Locals Abroad. Bermuda's professional triathletes Flora Duffy and Tyler Butterfield continue to do the island proud.

    Flora placed 20th in a field of 60 in the Olympic distance World Championships in Edmonton, Canada, on 30 August. Flora's time was 2:03:09. Her splits were 19:14 for the 1,500 meter swim; 1:05:50 for the 40km bike and 36:26 for the 10km run. This followed Flora's second place on 16 August in the ITU Cross Triathlon World Championships in Zittau, Germany. (More details here.

    Meanwhile Tyler easily clinched a starting spot in the Ironman World Championship coming up in Kona, Hawaii, in October. Tyler's successes this season helped him to qualify in a remarkable fourth place for the event.

    Bank of Bermuda Foundation Triathlon. It's not long until the popular Bank of Bermuda Foundation triathlon. You can find details here. If you can't take part, please volunteer!

    The Argo Re Summer Series of super sprints resumed on Thursday 28 August, despite the best efforts of Hurricane Cristobal to blow us off course. Well done to winners Otis Ingham, a repeat winner, and Marie Taylor, a first time winner. Full results here. For information about this series please read the Argo Re FAQ (see left hand menu).
