Big thanks to Patty and Andrew Davis for standing in to ensure that this week's Super Sprint could go ahead. The relatively small field which was able to take time out from preparations for Hurricane Leslie were in good hands - Patty was selected out of thousands to be one of the triathlon officials in the recent London Olympics! The Labour Day Home Triathlon for 2012 was held on Monday 3 September at Harrington Sound Dock. A good field of 41 took part in at least one leg. The conditions were good - Harrington Sound was calm, the wind and traffic were light, and the morning was hot but bearable. Congratulations to race winner Andrew Davis, and big thanks to all the volunteers and supporters who helped with matters such as timing, race briefing and traffic control. Specific thanks to Patty and Steven Petty for the timing and race briefing, respectively, and to Andrew Davis for collating the results. The overall results are shown here. You can find the splits in the attached spreadsheet (see foot of page.) If we've spelled your name incorrectly, apologies and you're welcome to send a correction to alan@logic.bm. Tonight's event was notable for an influx of visiting young Irish athletes. They claimed to be debutants - but watch out for the names Dixon and Callan on the global triathlon circuit in future! It was also notable for the absence of ALL of the wonderful ladies who have done the timing for so many of these events this summer, which made me appreciate all their past help all the more. It also gave me the perfect excuse not to have to DO the event as I had to time it instead. Apologies for any errors or omissions - if you spot one, please give me a heads up at alan@logic.bm and I'll be happy to correct it. 200m Swim/8K bike/2K run 26:13 Ramar Douglas 27:25 Ian Henderson 27:35 Jay Riihiluoma 27:40 Andrew Hern 28:48 Tony (I'm Out of Here) Hall 29:03 Rachael Rothwell 29:06 Oliver Riihiluoma 29:13 Denis Joell 29:25 Edgar Griffith 29:35 April Galda-Joyce 29:40 Andy Steel 30:18 Nathalie Luthi 31:05 Deanna Didyk 31:06 Greg Tyers 31:12 Howard (Over 16) Willliams 32:46 Nancy Swart 33:06 Corinne Peach 33:25 Paul Simons 33:44 Dave (Flip Flops) Hope 34:13 Tracy Burgess 34:14 Richard Marriott 34:40 Deborah Pharaoh-Williams 34:47 Rebecca Harrison 36:13 Randolph Smith 36:17 The Dixon-Callan Twins 36:19 TJ (Built) Dixon 37:05 Dawn Johnson 37:24 Carol (Unchained) Dixon 42:29 Scott (I think I can) Gilbertson 100m swim/5K bike/1K run 27:12 Yanik Smith Other Distances 20:15 Team Silvia 200m swim/2 laps bike/1 lap run 25:11 Victoria Davis Not sure - please email alan@logic.bm to confirm your distances 27:29 Sarah Tafur 200m swim/3 laps bike/1 lap run DNF Simon Fraser |
